Picture yourself making your way up the aisle with live guitar accompaniment.

I'm Savannah guitarist Doug Povie and I can provide this service for your special day. I'm a graduate of the University of Iowa School of Music with a Bachelor of Music degree, and I also hold a Masters Degree in Accomplished Teaching from Georgia Southern University. For the past 25 years I have taught band, jazz band, and guitar classes in Savannah schools. I perform at many weddings in Savannah and the surrounding areas each year. 

The classical guitar is perfectly suited for intimate wedding venues such as small chapels, the beach, historic homes, gazebos and home yards and gardens where it can be enjoyed acoustically, so I specialize in small weddings of about 50 guests or less.

Amplified service is available for larger venues and groups either through the PA system of the venue, or with the use of my amplification system.

In either case, your wedding will be an affair to cherish forever with the addition of the classical guitar to your ceremony.

My Standard Wedding Service includes: 

Up to 30 minutes of prelude music

Processional for attendants/ parents

Processional for bride

Optional interlude during ceremony or background music during readings

Recessional and celebration music at conclusion of ceremony
